Top 10 Reasons Students and Parents Love Worcester Preparatory School

Although Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) has evolved in many ways since it opened in 1970, Headmaster Dr. Barry Tull says the founding mission of providing a rigorous college preparatory education has remained constant since the school opened its doors 47 years ago. Below are just a few reasons why WPS has stood the test of time not only educating and providing them with the building blocks they need to succeed in college and beyond, but also giving them the tools they’ll need for a fulfilling and rewarding life.

WPS felt like a family from the moment I walked through the doors to start my tour when my daughter was only three. The caring and accepting environment inspires children to develop their talents and encourages individualism.” Tonya Rayne

Our family has been continuously with Worcester, going on 19 years. More than anything else, the school has prepared my kids for the rigors of college. They stand out in college for their ability to write and articulate with passion. Our eldest daughter graduated from Dartmouth College and is in her third year of medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Our second child is attending University of Chicago and doing well. I’m looking forward to what my next two children will accomplish when they graduate from Worcester.” -  Drs. Wilson and Linda Choy

Ninety-percent of students play at least one sport including competitive field hockey, soccer, volleyball, golf, basketball, cheerleading, lacrosse, tennis and cross country.

“The number of athletic programs Worcester offers for a school of its size is incredible and unavailable from any other school in our area. Having so many options for the students to participate opens up more opportunity for the students to develop team building skills, feel more connected to the school, and to become more well-rounded students.”  - Alex Moore, class of 1986

I can highly attest to the performing skillsets we both developed, the encouraged perspectives garnered and the creative expression vehicle the arts program at WPS provided for each of us.” -  Tammy Kilgore, Class of 1979
