School Lead Testing
Effective April 2018, HB270 was passed requiring that initial testing for lead in the drinking water of all schools in the State of Maryland be conducted before July 1, 2018. On May 30, 2018, West Chester Environmental collected samples from all drinking water outlets. Thirty-six first draw samples were collected. Four of the samples were noted to be above the regulated action level. Use of these outlets was immediately discontinued and flush samples have been sent to the laboratory. Remediation of these outlets will begin immediately following the receipt of the flush sample results.
