MSP Trooper 4 Drops in on WPS

Berlin, MD – Maryland State Police (MSP) - Aviation Command, in partnership with the Town of Berlin and Mayor Zack Tyndall, visited Worcester Preparatory School's (WPS) Pre-K and 1st Grade classes last week. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the students to the role of a flight paramedic and provide insights into the responsibilities of Trooper 4, based in Salisbury, Maryland.
 
According to MSP, Trooper 4 is a 24-hour operation that primarily serves Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, and Somerset counties in Maryland, as well as parts of lower Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Virginia. With a team consisting of five pilots and five paramedics, Trooper 4 handles various types of flights, including medevacs, search and rescue missions, law enforcement missions, natural resource missions, and disaster assessments.
 
During the visit, MSP Trooper 4 Flight Aviation Flight Paramedic and WPS parent, First Sgt. Michael Mann, along with representatives from MSP and the Town of Berlin, engaged with the students, providing an overview of the work they do and answering questions. The highlight of the visit was the students' opportunity to explore the helicopter.
