The Worcester Preparatory School (Worcester Country School) Alma Mater was written in 1971 with lyrics by Dr. Merle Marsh and music by Susan Hayman. It was revised by Dr. Marsh and Music Teacher Dan Freed when the school name changed.
LYRICS:
From the shores of old Delmarva
Alma Mater praises ring
Ever onward, ever forward
Proudly Worcester's song we sing.
Red and white and blue our colors,
Symbolizing Worcester's role
In the realm of truth and knowledge
Seeking wisdom as our goal.
Warm our hearts with understanding,
Mold our backgrounds as we lead
Worcester Prep in new directions
To a world ahead in need.
We'll be persons with compassion,
Educated to be free,
Guiding others with our knowledge
And our own integrity.
We will proudly bear as banner,
Lions by the fleur-de-lis,
Crowned by the torch of knowledge,
And our own ability.
We sincerely vow to Worcester
To bring honor to her name;
So that by our words and actions,
We will e'er increase her fame.
