WPS Students Place in Local American Legion Essay Contest

Berlin, MD – Congratulations to Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) 4th graders Emery Anthony and Grace Hornung for their outstanding achievements in this year's Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #123 Americanism Essay Contest.
 
Each year, the American Legion Auxiliary hosts an Americanism Essay Contest for students in grades 3-12. This initiative aims to teach students about the value of patriotism and what it means to be an American. Thousands of students participate annually, fostering a lifelong respect for our flag and country. This year’s theme was "What Does America the Beautiful Mean to Me?"
 
Emery secured first place, while Grace achieved second place at the district level. Both students will be honored at a ceremony in April. Additionally, their classmates Hannah Giardina, Zia Salem, and Carter Merryman were recognized for their participation.
